Marathon For A Cause
To be honest, it was a combination of two reasons - a great personal goal in terms of achieving a level of stamina that I could have only fantasised about, and I felt strongly about improving education in India.

Indiatimes Id:pingaley Anu and I were training buddies and we both were running as Harbingers of Hope for Asha for Education. It was going to be the first marathon for both of us and hence we all had the same hopes, same fears and same wonders & experiences.
While Anu ran the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC and I ran the New York City Marathon. As my run was the weekend after her run, she joined me from Mile 18 onwards during my marathon run and ran the remaining of the distance with me as a friendly gesture.
I would like to thank Anu for her wonderful gesture of running along with me the last 8 miles as these were the most difficult ones and having my running buddy along with me was the best part of the race for me.
Thank you Anu and wishing you all the very best in all that you do ahead in life. You not only did good by running for a cause and finshing your first marathon but also helped me finish my first.
Thanks
