A nutritious mix of rice with pulses
and herbs

50 g rice
50 g green gram
1 cup
mixed herbs, chopped (coriander, mint, celery, parsley, basil)
1 cup
button onions, peeled
1 tsp ginger, grated
1 tsp garlic,
chopped
1 tsp oatmeal
2 tsp wheatgerm
1 tsp any bran (wheat,
rice or oat)
¼ tsp pepper powder
¼ tsp cumin powder
Pinch of salt
For the Seasoning
2 tsp oil
A pinch of mustard
and cumin seeds
2 tsp curry leaves

Method
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and
sauté the seasoning ingredients, button onions, ginger and garlic for a
minute. Add the remaining ingredients and water a little over twice the volume
of the rice and pressure cook. Serve hot with plain curd or
raita.
