stare at computer screens more, sleep less, and live in polluted environments.
Unfortunately, our hectic lifestyles leave their mark on the delicate skin
around our eyes. Give your neglected eyes these natural treats and get
bright-eyed once again!Stress causes dark circles and bags under the eyes,
wrinkles around the eyes and premature ageing. Try these home remedies to
lighten dark circles and control puffiness.
•Slice
a raw potato and cut one slice into half. Place the wedges under both eyes and
leave them there for 20 minutes.
•Wrap
grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15 to 20 minutes. Wipe
off residue and apply an eye cream.
•To
reduce swelling under the eyes, brew a cup of strong rose hip tea. Soak two
cotton balls in the tea and place over eyes.
•For
puffy eyes, use and cool a tea bag (herbal is better) and place on the eyes
while you rest.
•To
lighten dark circles, cut a fresh fig in half and place over each
eye.
•Mix
two teaspoons mint paste with half a cup of milk. Freeze to make ice cubes. Rub
daily on the eye area.
On-The-Run
Remedies
•Put
cold cream on eyelashes and brows to keep soap out of your eyes while
shampooing.
•Got
tired looking eyes? Soak cotton pads in ice water, place on eyelids and lie down
with your feet elevated.
•To
soothe irritated peepers, cut the ends off a cool cucumber into quarter-inch
slices. Apply a slice to each eye.
•Raw
potato slices, laid on sore eyes, reduce heat and redness.
•For
bloodshot eyes, soak sterile cotton balls in cold skimmed milk. Place over eyes
for 10 minutes. Rinse the entire face in warm, then cool, water.
•A
great way to get stubborn eye make-up off is to mix water and baby
oil.
